A rich and supple wine, though well-structured, with only hints of the tar and medicinal herb notes of many Barolos. The long aftertaste features fruit and mineral. 95pts(WA)The 2007 Barolo Marenca boasts tons of richness and depth. Beautiful, well-delineated aromatics are woven throughout a core of expressive, racy fruit, adding lift and freshness. The Marenca is usually the biggest of the Baroli here, and the 2007 is definitely an extroverted wine, but is also beautifully balanced. Waves of fruit build effortlessly to the pulsating finish. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2027.

This is a head-spinning set of wines from Luigi Pira from top to bottom. I would be thrilled to drink any of these wines any day of the week.
