2009 12C Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Georges III Vyd

Full-bodied 100% Cabernet Sauvignon showcasing ripe black cherries, red and black currants and a hint of chocolate, fig, toast, and well integrated French oak. This crowd pleasing, knock your socks off, Napa Cabernet coats the mouth with richness, yet it is well balanced, finishing long and polished. The combination of smooth tannins and natural acidity makes this a wine to pair with a wide variety of food. Delicious now and has the goods to age gracefully. Again, only 125 cases produced and super limited.

This is now just the 2nd vintage of 12C Wines, a single vineyard, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from the prestigious Vineyard Georges III in Rutherford. Created by the young and talented winemaker Mike Smith, the assistant winemaker for highly sought after wines from Schrader, Rivers-Marie, Maybach, Outpost, this wine represents the characteristics, reputation and quality of the Rutherford Bench at a wonderful price.

True to the vintage, aromatics galore soar from the glass. Ripe pie cherries, anise and Chinese five spice intermixed with a mineral component envelops the senses. Masses of red fruits coupled with fine grained tannins and an amazing mouth feel polarize the palate. While powerful & bold, there is also sense of elegance and refinement in this wine which is a common trait in most Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignons. The finish is like no other I've made. Marvelously supple tannins are framed by perfect natural acidity which interplays with red fruits, sandalwood spice and Belgium chocolate notes. Look for this wine to age gracefully for years to come and will hit its stride in the next two years. Winemaker Mike Smith
