Winemaker’s Notes

Nearing maturity, with lovely suppleness to ripe blackberry, Chanterelle mushroom and dried herb undertones. There’s excellent depth of flavor in the midpalate and polished tannins that tighten up in the mineral-tinged finish. This has a smooth mouthfeel that stands gracefully on its own and the structure to beautifully complement food (dry aged beef will be ideal). Drinks pretty well now but will benefit from another year or two in the cellar and will hold strong through at least 2022.

Sweet but not particularly fleshy, offering a juicy character to the flavors of crushed berries, pepper and spices. Nicely suave cabernet with a firm edge of acidity and ripe, building tannins."
