2009 Martinelli Terra Felice Syrah Russian River Valley 

Terra Felice is Martinelli's proprietary blend of several of their best estate vineyards from around the Russian River Valley. The grapes undergo a long, cool fermentation on native yeast to allow a pure and fruit-driven extraction of the skins. The wine is aged in new French oak for 8 months before being bottled unfined and unfiltered. The Terra Felice has a big, smoky nose of the grill, but is surprisingly bright on the palate. From the winery: "It has aromas of vanilla, sweet tobacco, and bacon, and is laden with flavors of raspberry and currents.”
