2010 Alysian Westside Farms Clone 4 Chardonnay 

95pts (CG) Just as all ripe, full-scaled wines are not destined to fail, so too can those aiming for subtlety and finesse succeed. This very special bottling from winemaker Gary Farrell deftly straddles the border between the two styles, and it comes up a winner in terms of both richness and keen composition. It is solidly fruited and accented with gentle touches of oak and stony spice, and, while crisp and energetic, it has a good sense of substance and mass.
