2010 Ravenswood Winery Zinfandel Old Hill Sonoma Valley

94pts(IWC) Bright purple.  A wild, highly perfumed bouquet displays scents of candied dark fruits, sandalwood incense, violet and star anise, with smoke and floral overtones.  Sappy, palate-staining cherry compote and cassis flavors show a suave blend of richness and verve, picking up cracked pepper and violet pastille nuances with air.  Sneaky, mounting tannins give shape and grip to the strikingly long, sweet finish, with its echoing floral note.  Josh Raynolds Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar May/June 2013
