2010 Woodward Canyon Artist Series Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Vly

94pts (WA)Thanks to a cooler vintage, lower yields, and attentive vineyard practices, this wine (a blend of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, and the balance Cabernet Franc & Petit Verdot) has a certain “left bank Bordeaux” quality to it. Fermentation in stainless steel tanks with 20 months aging in 50% new  French barrels helped to produce a well-proportioned and complex red wine that speaks to the grape’s origins - a combination of some of the most highlyregarded vineyards in Washington State. The wine is classic on the nose, with loads of black currant, tobacco leaf, chocolate, cedar, and herbs. Lusicous  yet fresh in the mouth, it has an elegance that conceals its underlying ripe tannins. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate June 2013
