“Spectacularly perched 1400 feet above the valley floor in the eastern hills of Napa Valley, the Antinori California vineyard was the source for the 2011 vintage of Pinot Noir. The 2011 vintage was the coolest and wettest on record in Napa Valley. Well above the fog line, and averaging ten degrees cooler than the valley floor, the fruit ripened perfectly and we harvested the morning before the rains. The sloping, rocky soils kept the vineyard well drained. While yields were low, our fruit was exceptionally well balanced. brick & mortar pinot noir shows a poignant expression of this site. The aromatics display purity and precision, with alluring dark red fruits framed by dusty red earth and dried herbs. The palate is supple and rich, with a vibrant acidity and elegant finish. This wine is gorgeous in its youth, but we recommend cellaring for the next 8-10 years.” – Winery Notes
