2012 Agnitio Chardonnay Napa Valley

It's no secret that Napa Chardonnay has been trending toward more elegant, lightly oaked and medium-bodied over the butter, creamy and rich style that dominated the 90s. Although a trend, few producers have done it truly well. This inaugural vintage of Agnitio does not only talk the talk, but over delivers. Coming from Trefethen vineyard, we were stunned by the complexity and finesse in this Chardonnay. It's fruit forward and juicy, but not heavy or rich. After being decanted, it tasted even better!

Made by the talented Anthony Weytjens - who has worked for Dominus Estate & Chateau Petrus - we've come to expect great things from him. Last month we previewed next year, and this will certainly be a wine to watch. 295 cases produced
